Druids United

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 They’re the oldest football club of the Cymri
The Ancient Ones in their magpie cloaks
They play in the black hills of Maelor Country
It’s just as deceptive as Marlborough Country
The glorious mountains mask debatable bounty
Of chocolate sulphur in the sacred oaks

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 They’ll kiss your sisters under the mistletoe
These licensed bards of the League of Wales
They’re olaves and gentlemen not oval-balled roughs, though
They might wear whites for the solstice summerglow
The Fron Choir will bont them across to Monsanto
With Wrexham Lager and Border Ales

Notes

Now, after a merger with Cefn Albion, known as Cefn Druids. They really are the oldest football club in Wales, with an illustrious amateur history. They play in the Cefn Mawr/Ruabon area south of Wrexham. The pollution reference is to the proecessed sulphur stink from the now closed Monsanto factory which was later weirdly blended with chocolate from the Cadbury’s factory at Chirk. Endure, Ancient Ones!
