Talented, brawny and skilful,
Intelligent, thoughtful and wilful,
Many clubs sought to wine and dine him,
So desp’rate were they that they sign him.

And silly proposals belittled,
Till soon there were just three contenders,
To sign one of our best defenders.

After watching him play Skonta Riga,
But the wife of his chairman said “Honey,
I think he would cost too much money.”

Came over a little too clever.
The contract was duly inspected,
And even more quickly rejected.

“Two Eds are bitter – Dan won.”
