There’s also Henderson.
This one’s the lad decked out in green,
He’s England’s Number One.

A reassuring presence,
Between the sticks he stands,
So far no clangers has he dropped,
A most safe pair of hands.

He bawls at his defenders,
When they don’t give him cover,
Just like a hawk he watches them,
More closely than Big Brother.

You may remember Gordon Banks,
Ray Clemence, Pete Shilton,
But in my mind there is no doubt
That Pickford’s Number One.

Where does he ply his trade?
At Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Man U
Or some such famous name?

He earns his corn on Merseyside,
He plays for Everton!
