the Gallic landscape;
the 3 Lions thought they had a tasty meal
of Russian bear
until Ursis clawed back
to equal footing;
they all fight to live another day;

now Panthera Leo
must re-group and ensure
that they hunt and corner
the Welsh wyvern

There are certainties in Football:
England will always let you down
(both on and off the pitch)
and you don’t need the runes of a witch
to know, that Germany win
and write the Italians off, at your peril
or so says my Auntie Beryl
who prefers their swarthy Mediterranean looks
to the likes of Shrek or Frodo Wilshere
or Hendo and his crescendo, of ears;
it could all end in tears
and suffocating tear gas
if the fans don’t behave
