Europe’s to blame – That’s topical !

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I remember back,
in the glorious day,
one game at home,
then one away.
Finals disappointing,
all about the “journey”,
it was football at
its most elementary.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Then they decided
to have a league,
not only for champions,
on this they agreed.
All domestic issues
were brushed aside.
Take the t.v money,
cash before pride.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 To dissenting voices
this is the retort,
kick a ball in a park,
if you want “sport”,
it’s all about business,
and increased revenue,
you’re just reactionary,
afraid of what’s new.

Notes

After reading the reports of the latest discussions between UEFA and the ECA. I am now convinced that the champions league, will change the game, and not for the better.
