Fatties Football & Fighting

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 What is it about fat blokes at football
that makes ’em want to fight
sans shirt on telly
flab wobbling like weebles
giving it ‘large’
like gluttunous jellies

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 It’s not pretty it’s not clever
tubs of lard spilling onto the pitch
yelling and jeering
tattooed pans of custard overflowing
what an undignified sight
200 buster bloodvessels bursting
at the seams

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 ‘Sarf’ London souffles squashed
into tracky pants like a Delia Smith
Scone mix pushed down into a
cake tin two sizes too small
Panting across the West Ham pitch
Sweat larding the turf like Falstaff

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Whilst terrace weight watchers lose points as
Yesterday was a black day.

Notes

What a load of nonsense at Upton Park last night.

Editor Note :
Views expressed here are not necessarily the views of the editors. We
do however forever deplore any violence at or around games and despite the weight and obesity problems which exist in the UK, we’re about education and writing about football. We’re not about exploiting sizist issues or encouraging rude remarks about people, but point taken and poem included. Despite the predictable backlash comments , we continue to publish poetry that cites comment and reflection as opposed to some vitriolic message board. (Ours was abused so much way back, we had to remove it) best . Editors.
