Were you alive on that fateful day?
Liverpool still played ‘The Liverpool Way’,
The players were great – and trophies expected,
Barnes scored the goals whilst Kenny directed.

Another cup semi – Kenny v Clough,
Same as ’88 oddly enough,
On to Sheffield the reds fans descended,
Forest’s cup dreams were about to be ended.

But before the kick-off – the Cops lost control,
Which led to the loss of ninety-six souls,
But the Police sat back and apportioned the blame,
On innocent reds who’d just gone to a game.

Duckenfield thought ‘I can’t cope with this mess’
An idea occurred – ‘I’ll go to the press.’
He went to the gutter and spoke to The S*n,
And we’ll never forget the story they run.

“The Scousers went crazy and all rushed the gate,
They beat up my coppers and stole from their mates”
THE TRUTH they printed on their front page,
And sparked fifteen years of Liverpool rage.

Fifteen years gone with Justice not done,
All over the country we boycott the S*n,
Kelvin and Duckenfield have blood on their hands,
They continue through life with their heads in the sand.

Fifteen years gone with Justice not done,
But we know the truth and we will carry on,
To educate people and counter the lies,
That were told in The S*n back in ’89.
