At the resting place where nobody goes
Some faded words on cold white stone
An old adage, “You’ll Never Walk Alone”

I wonder, is he remembered at all?
From a distance I offer a silent prayer
As running hares bound without a care

When next you cheer from your safe seat
Think of him, the man you didn’t meet
A supporter in search of a final place
Anyone’s fate but for God’s good grace
