1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Meet in the pub before the match
talk football over a beer,
then have a few more
as the ground is ever so near.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Meet in the pub before the match
just got in before the rain,
good excuse for some pints
plenty of time to catch a train.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Meet in the pub before the match
need a drink to get in the mood,
to a fan it’s called a liquid lunch
so no need then for any food.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Meet in the pub after the match
chat about the game over booze,
celebrate your teams win
and even if they lose.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Football and beer go hand in hand
it’s all part of the beautiful game,
as having just a cup of tea
would never feel the same !

Notes

As I don’t go to Northampton to watch Coventry’s “home” games I try and go to as many of our away games to compensate.
I don’t know if it is just at away matches but it seems to revolve around meeting up in a pub,going in a pub on arrival off the train,then finding a pub after the match.I’m not complaining as I enjoy the whole day out,but I’ve yet to see a fan who get’s back to Coventry who is sober.
The next away game I go to I’ll have to take more beer money !
