And the boys in blue
On the other side of London
Fail in their noble quest

The blue boys played it
So much better,
For longer stretches on that
Frigid night

Attacked more
Attacked harder
Had the Gunners leaning
Back against the post
Corner kick after corner kick
Slouching towards defeat

And after ninety minutes
Of noble football poetry
Champions League football
All they could show for it
Was a 1-1 home draw
Gave up a soft goal
A result of bad defending
For one blink of the eye

Took the game to Arsenal
Ran them around
Stamford Bridge
Backwards and sideways
Pressed, pressed, pressed
Yet, gave up that away goal
For their troubles

Everything is predetermined
The Arsenal will not be beaten
By their Russian-bought rivals

The Chelsea dilemma
As they search for silverware
A quest without a grail
