Is it a misnomer
this pet name of ours?
Should it be Miss No More … Beautiful Game?
Is it a glorification
of a plain and dowdy sport?
Of a drab and dreary dame?
Of a wan ‘ol one?
Is it a case of too much make up
and too little foundation?

And as for a cultural element –
Yes there is talent
and passion aplenty ..
but is it art?
Is there justification for us
to paint a Mona Lisa
with our own qwertybrush
where others see only
a Dame Edna?

but then I’m biased.
For I was seduced long ago
by this magnificent Madam!
