How it was and how it is.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 When I was a lad, I went out with my dad
To the place where my dreams I’d fulfil
Though I hadn’t a seat, it still turned out a treat
As we hammered our neighbours four nil

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 So much smaller back then, round about four foot ten
Yet, my screech was so loud, Dad would wince
You see my passion was more, than the hardest hardcore
And it’s stayed the same way ever since

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Through the good and the bad, I still watch with me dad
Though our comfort’s assured nowadays
With a thumb press we’re there without leaving our chair
Down the pub when we need away-days

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Football’s changed quite a lot, but I’ll tell you we’ve not
Call me an armchair supporter, why not
You see I’d rather be here, with my dad drinking beer
Than with the Champagne and Prawn sandwich lot

Notes

Inspired by something a friend said which is quoted in the last two line.
