Hung Over?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 So Paolo has called for
a cracking post Christmas atmosphere;
fans who have been deprived of
their footie fix
due to waterlogged pitches
turning out in their numbers
to roar their heroes on to victory.
But Paolo should know that
the reality could be very different:
hung over fans unable to shake
off their post Christmas lethargy;
to reboot their sagging energy;
even the after effects of the endless
turkey sandwiches leave them voiceless,
unable or unwilling to whisper
let alone sing.
Let’s hope that the players’ performance
can prevent any gloom from
hanging over the County Ground
and Paolo gets his wish.

You always hope that the new year fixture will be a great game with a cracking atmosphere to boot. often the reality is that the fans are peerring through rather hazy, alcohol tinted glasses.
