In Memory of our 96 Brothers and Sisters

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Our tribal songs declare our hearts
Our colours flags our banners scarves
We’re drawn on sides but fate today
As one we bowed our heads to pray
For 96 who followed with pride
A football team from Merseyside
A mother’s son a Father’s girl
So cruelly taken from this world
Justice hangs her head with shame
The passing years will not erase
The fight goes on for every name
Stand out declare the ones to blame
Shankly Paisley Fagan proud
They guide the Kopites homeward bound.

Notes

Thank you Crispin Thomas for your heartfelt poem and also for remembering the 96 Liverpool fans each year on the anniversary of that terrible day. Thank you to all football fans wherever you are who remember. Lest we forget.
