It’s coming home!
It is….
Isn’t it?

Not to wash or cook or clean
But on achievement of a dream
Where the Ladies
Will be lauded, applauded, and awarded
The freedom of every city
Achieving legendary status forevermore
Names rolling off the tongue
In the same way
We once extolled
Banks, Moore, Charlton(s), Ball, et al
And Peters and Hurst;
Intriguingly and frustratingly
The men have been cursed
With more than 30 years of hurt –
In fact, nearly double that;
But the Ladies have been super
Giving nobody any licence
To rhyme Earps with twerps
Or to align Bronze with third
But only to recognize how the games have spurred
Anticipation, hope
And to announce that the future is bright………. Millie Bright!
