Jackie Sinclair R.I.P.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 A black and white chain has been broken
Which has held strong for Forty One year
The Fairs cup winners today are in mourning
With the passing of Jackie Sinclair.
The wee man from north of the border
Who was to become such a hero of mine
And played his part in bringing us glory
Back in that summer of Sixty Nine.
We have been starved of success for so long
But at least I can say I was there
And I still hang on to all of those memories
That you gave me Jackie Sinclair.

Notes

Today I heard the sad news about the passing of ex Newcastle Utd player Jackie Sinclair, Jackie was a member of the Utd team that won the Inter cities Fairs cup back in 1969. A tricky little winger who joined Newcastle Utd from Leicester City for £70,000. United fans thoughts are with Jackie’s family today. The boys of 69 will remember you.
