by intense floodlights that heighten

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 I take in the darkening kaleidoscope
of cloud as the sky

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Below, on the playing field,
Our Boys win against all the odds.
A rarity: the Italian fans
applaud their opponents,
their love of the game
stronger than tribalism.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 The stadium empties – the defeated may return home.
The cleaners move in. Barely a whiff
of nearby Kosovo tinges the pungent night air.
