Klingons on the Starboard Bow

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Captain Dolan rubbed his eyes
Aboard the Starship Enterprise.
The journey into Outer Space
To propagate the rebel race
Had been a marvellous success,
Despite the nervousness and stress.
Mother Earth loomed large and near
And, plunging through the stratosphere,
The spaceship headed back to base,
Once more in gravity’s embrace.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But as the Captain, tired and weary,
Rubbed his eyes all puffed and bleary,
The panels on the spaceship’s side,
Blew off into the slipstream’s tide,
And as the ship began to rattle,
The Captain fought a lonely battle.
Sadly though, to no avail.
The ship belched out a smoky trail
And many million dollars worth
Of spaceship crashed back down to earth.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 [Not on the Argentinian pampas,
But on an Irish college campus.]
