But honestly the draw was mainly thanks
To shaky rearguard action without Rio
Which meant United lacked their usual brio

It showed that staff relations ain’t that chummy
And with the Gunners cruising swiftly past
Sir Alex may be wondering if they’re arsed

And no way is the situation funny
No no it wouldn’t do at all to mock
Cos some expensive heads are on the block

And in the changing room the boots are flying
Becks did the right thing getting off the scene
Cos when the pressure’s on the boss gets mean

The fellowship defied the mighty Scum
And made them take a tumble on their bum

And caused the Stretford orcs to rail and fret

I’m struggling here to keep Leeds in the frame
But hey with their form, frankly who’s to blame?

Their situation’s marginally less dag
But face it all improvement is comparative
So let’s await developments in the narrative

Notes

This one’s a kind of holding operation until something
more interesting comes along in Leeds season. The
fixture was of course Man U 1 : Leeds 1 on 21 Feb
2004.

It’s all a bit humdrum at present, but nonetheless a
good result for the lads which needs to be recognised
as far as allegiances permit.

Gary Neville spectacularly lost it during this game.
