Motivation

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Every player has a different way
Of getting motivated for a game.
Some are arrogant: this being theirs
Claim the glory, and all the fame.
You might choose a team-mate
To ready yourself with mental ability.
For their wise words of encouragement,
Might give you some stability.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But the bottom line comes to this:
You need some motivation.
Else your playing will go nowhere,
Play stopped in desperation.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Psych yourselves up girls,
We can do this you know.
All we need is a little mentality,
To get us the whole way through.
We’re sure to need it,
We have to have it,
Prepare ourselves for what’s to come.
Whoever’s out there, we’ll take them,
So long as we have this motivation.

Notes

I’m aware that there’s no rhyming in the last verse – in my opinion it adds to the ‘psyching up’ effect.
Entirely inspired by my P.E lesson today – gotta thank the teacher for that!
