Newcastle United Poems Yr 6

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Newcastle Win

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Newcastle fans are great,
seizing control of their own fate,
their club to mould, theirs to create,
and take the reigns before it’s too late.
Hear them scream and hear them shout,
they want the cockney mafia out!

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 My First Game

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Last week I went to the game,
And all the players knew my name.
I knew their names and I was glad,
When we beat Sunderland they got mad.
I have loved Newcastle all my life,
They create the tension you can cut with a knife.
They love to play in black and white,
Against the team at the Stadium of Light.
They are poor, very poor,
Don’t ask me how, I’m just sure.

My Tour at St James Park

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 I made my way to the ground,
Where I paid the man a pound,
I was amazed at what I found,
At our wonderful football ground!

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 Walking up under the stand,
Heritage stones under my feet
The crowd cheering like a band,
Making my way to my seat.

11 Leave a comment on verse 11 0 I made my way to the ground,
Where I paid the man a pound,
I was amazed at what I found,
At our wonderful football ground!

12 Leave a comment on verse 12 0 The player scored in the goal,
The faithful crowd began to roar,
In the net there was a hole,
Newcastle win, 3-0 the score.

15 Leave a comment on verse 15 0 Newcastle Tour

16 Leave a comment on verse 16 0 As I’m going on a Newcastle tour.
I see the players who are never poor
Butt, Harper and Givens too
standing here in the queue
Injuries are terrible all footballers hate,
On the pitch they slide tackle their mate.

17 Leave a comment on verse 17 0 Goalies are important they save us the game
We all help by shouting their name
As Sunderland play with us they take it too far
As in slide tackling us and making a big fuss.
Football is great and every one can do it,
All you need do is to put your back into it.

Their boss is called O’Neil
Their home ground is Villa Park
Where passion the players feel.

22 Leave a comment on verse 22 0 Everton play in royal blue.
In the city of Liverpool.
Their nickname is the Toffees
And there fans think they are cool.

23 Leave a comment on verse 23 0 Newcastle play in black and white.
They will win tomorrow night
Martins and Viduka back in the game,
Newcastle 3-0 win, all the way

To win the match is our aim
It is against Man U
We hope to win 4:2

34 Leave a comment on verse 34 0 We need a win for the club
Rolando will be a Sub
Come on the lads in St James Park
Manchester United are not good in the Dark

35 Leave a comment on verse 35 0 Newcastle needs to win the match
The full three points we to snatch
Manchester United will go down
All their fans will wear a frown

39 Leave a comment on verse 39 0 Alan shearer is feeling alright,
He played for the Toon in the game last night.
The crowds went mad,
They were especially glad.

40 Leave a comment on verse 40 0 He scored an amazing goal,
Right in through a tiny hole!
The ball floated in the air,
The opposing team found it unfair.

41 Leave a comment on verse 41 0 The best Newcastle player of all,
Who scored our wining goal.
Me mam put on some lippy,
And we all went down to the chippy!

44 Leave a comment on verse 44 0 My name is Ben I’m the biggest Toon fan,
And I reckon Ronaldo wears fake tan.
Come on United I’ll follow you,
No matter how good or bad you may do.

45 Leave a comment on verse 45 0 Tomorrow we play the almighty Reds,
I’m sure we will win as they loose their heads.
The keeper will kick, the players will swear,
I’m sure the Toon will win the cup next year.

48 Leave a comment on verse 48 0 My Tour of St James Park

49 Leave a comment on verse 49 0 Today I’m going on a Newcastle tour.
None of the players are ever poor.
They drive around in their fancy cars.
And they always think they’re super stars.

50 Leave a comment on verse 50 0 Tonight am going to a match,
I hope the keeper knows how to catch!
Singing and chanting from the crowd,
Newcastle fans are very loud and proud.

52 Leave a comment on verse 52 0 Newcastle

53 Leave a comment on verse 53 0 Alan Shearer played for Newcastle,
and scored goals without a hassle.
We’re playing a match on Sunday
It’s going to be a really fun day.
Can’t wait till the tough match against Liverpool
I’ll watch it in the hay.

54 Leave a comment on verse 54 0 Will we win, will we lose?
should we give the players a glass of booze.

55 Leave a comment on verse 55 0 When I went on a tour, saw a player, not poor
He drives around in a large amazing car
Oh my god he is my super star.

56 Leave a comment on verse 56 0 Will we win, will we lose?
should we give the players a glass of booze.

57 Leave a comment on verse 57 0 Shearer Shearer will you score?
Shearer Shearer don’t hit the floor.
Shearer Shearer you’re the best
if we lose we will wax your chest!

58 Leave a comment on verse 58 0 Our Steve Harper saves loads of beer mats,

Notes

Editor Note:
Learning and Study Centres exist at many football grounds today and do a great but often un-heralded job after school , usually working with groups of 15 students for two hours a day. .They feed them ,work with them and inspire them through football to improve learning standards. This comes courtesy of PFS (Playing For Success) .

The above are a selection of poems about Newcastle United. John Oliver,a regular poet here and lifelong Magpies fan, visited the Learning Centre recently and got the kids writing. it appears most are from Kenton Bar School (?) and most likely Yr 5 or/and 6 .(Please confirm John, I tried ringing the Centre but no joy. These poems were all submitted individually ..and not all those made the grade (only football poems please!) I’ve put those selected together , to make it easier reading.Crispin
PS To all schools and football centres, if you encourage the kids to send in their poems en-masse PLEASE submit them all in one entry as above ,saves hours of copying and pasting!.thanks.CT
