No Way, José

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 No Way, José

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 He said he didn’t care they’d drawn the home leg.
He swore he’d beat the Reds on their own turf.
Of midfield they’d seize control, they would bag one vital goal,
Then the world would see what José’s men were worth.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 So they travelled up to Anfield on a Tuesday,
Having won the Title barely days before.
Yet their plans came all unstuck when Luìs Garcìa struck,
When Luìs Garcìa struck, my how they roared!

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 There were eighty-six odd minutes still remaining,
Which was more than ample time to equalise.
But when chances came their way, they could not stick them away,
So the ‘Pool cut José’s Boys right down to size.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Well now, José, let us hope you’ve learned your lesson.
Keep your mouth shut, now it’s Rafa’s turn to crow.
Sure, you won the Carling Cup and the Premiership’s wrapped up,
But tonight the Mighty Reds have laid you low!

Notes

I am an Evertonian!, so I really should not be celebrating, but, as I have pointed out before, some of my best friends support Liverpool, so this is a present for them…
