Old Big Ead
¶ 1

You were in our lives for years
Once you turned up on our door
We shared the joy, we shared the tears
We couldn’t have asked for more

You had the power to change things
It didn’t take too long
And just a few years later
They were all singing our song

They thought we couldn’t do it
But we showed them that we could
Twice you gave us the big one
Amongst the giants we stood
¶ 4

Nobody seemed to like us
We didn’t seem to care
For we were the big boys, the top dogs
We’d done it fair and square

They all wanted to beat us now
But hard as they all tried
None of them could get past us
You gave us so much pride
¶ 6

You left us far too early
A legend, we all said
For you were Nottingham’s finest
We’ll miss you, Old Big ‘Ead
