Olden Goalie.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 William H.”Fatty” Foulke,
A truly gargantuan bloke,
Played for Sheffield’s red and white,
Keeping goal with all his might…
At twenty stone and six foot three,
A defender of enormity,
He weighed in with England’s team
When Victoria was our Queen…
There was nowt that Fatty feared,
He had the goalmouth commandeered,
Stout in resolve and with redoubt
Fatty Foulke would keep ’em out…
Ever larger Fatty grew,
Until the final whistle blew,
It was full-time for one so brave,
But legends live beyond the grave…
Rest in Peace goalie bold,
Safely in the Keeper’s fold,
A man of men from days of yore,
They don’t make ’em like that any more.
