Poles Apart

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Patrick O’Flaccidity,
with his brother James,
went to the Football Tournament
at the Olympic Games..
Watching Poland versus Germany,
when the half-time whistle blew,
thirsting for a cuppa,
Pat joined the tearoom queue…

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Standing just in front of him
was an athletic sort of lad,
carrying a ten foot pole
in a long thin canvas bag..
“Are you a pole vaulter?” Patrick asked,
and the chap replied without a falter,
“Nein, I am a German, but..
how did you know mein name vas Walter?”
