Pull yourself together Man !

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I like to think of myself as being tough
and always able to keep a stiff upper lip
there’s not a lot of things can get me down
and I’m the one who tells people to get a grip.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I can work outdoors in all type of weather
and have never weeped watching a movie
but I think all my machismo is about to leave me
and it’s all down to my beloved Coventry City.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 My Dad used to say real men should never cry
and I never saw a tear run down his rugged face
but he came from a different type of generation
when life was a lot harder for the human race.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Well sorry Dad if I’m about to let you down
but don’t worry I won’t let anybody see
but when the City do finally get relegated
I’ll do my weeping on my own with no company.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But that’s what football can do to the emotions
it can reach down into a fan’s very soul
I’ve seen the most mild mannered supporter
turn into a crazy madman at an opposition’s late goal.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 But at the end of the day it’s just a sport is Football
and I’m sure I won’t be upset for very long
so in front of my fellow Sky Blue supporters
I’ll put on an act and pretend to be strong !

Notes

Not a lot to add really to this poem just that we are on the cusp of relegation and it does make your mood low to be honest.

But the tables don’t lie do they at the end of the season, and you end up where you deserve to be.
