I’ve wrapped up my dreams for many a year
In a scarf of richest red
And rich those dreams oh rich with life
Oh warm as passion’s bed

Yet charm the weary heart
Despair and doubt are cast aside
And sorrow has no dart

A willing host to sing
A hero’s name upon the lips
His image back to bring

Beneath the Shankly Gates
‘Tis here I find eternal rest
