Ousted Pardoe will be a loss.
Unfair dismissal say the crowd,
The fans say he did them proud.
How short sighted can this move be,
Another chairman cannot see.
Managers are left to lead,
Players settled will then succeed,
Thirteen bosses in a decade,
One more soap opera to be played.
Now the piper is to be payed.

Part of the statement after Alan Pardoe’s dismissal read:-
To get promoted this year and secure long term stability and progress.

Alan Pardoe was appointed July 17th 2009 and inherited a team who couldn’t win a raffle with one ticket in the hat. With morale at all time low.

Starting the season on -10 points they failed to get into the play offs finishing 7th although they did win the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy after Pardoe strengthened the squad in the January window.

Markus Liebherr the owner who alas died August 11th was said to be none too pleased that Southampton had not been promoted. Surely this was the time to make a change. So why did the chairman Nicolas Cortese wait until Southampton won 4-0 at Bristol Rovers and a day before the transfer window closed before Alan Pardoe was dismissed.
Logical ?

No wonder there are so many managers wanting the job. Sign A 3year contract get the sack after say 13 months goes a long way to your pension fund. My gut feeling tells me he will go on to the continent and get a first team coach only.

I hear they have taken the manager’s sign off the door and put up:-
