Taking a Bough

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 His name was Simon Birch and he was stately as an elm,
Yew didn’t con-cedar lot of goals with Birchy at the helm.
Willowy by nature, he was also tough as teak,
Poplar in the dressing-room, he did oak-ay every week.
‘Twas plane as he got alder, he was sycamore and more,
And missed a lot of matches fir the team that he played for.
Ash-blond the colour of his hair, his skin mahogany brown,
Tree-mendously effective until some sap chopped him down.
