I knew a boy once
With golden hair and azure eyes
(although he would tell you his eyes were green if he could)

And he laughed with the world
And the world laughed with him
Delighting in his ease and grace

But he hid from that world
His own world’s pain
A pain he shared with another

And though there were many paths
He could have taken
He took the one less travelled by
