Who would just like to support
The game that I once knew
When it was just sport.
Before millionaire players
Before private suites
Before the game became blighted
By divers and cheats.
Before mega rich owners
Who just dont understand
The passion and loyalty
Of the true football fan.
Before tearing off shirts
Amid wild celebrations
Before points deductions
And administrations.
Before alice bands
And bright orange boots
Before sponsorship deals
And corperate suits.
Before they try and tell me
That’s todays modern game
I’m sure there’s many out there
Who like me feel the same.

Sadly the game I knew and loved as a young man in my opinion has now all but gone.
