The Last Stand

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Last game of the season, last game ever for you
End of an era what else can we do?
The soul of our club, ripped apart
The party was over before it could start.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We brought the flags and waved our scarfs
Joey’s Frog’s Legs came for this game of two halves,
Tributes to Shanks and banners galore
Precious memories I remember who could ask for more?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 If you’ve stood on the Kop you’ll know what I mean
Sixteen thousand of us watching our team
Ten years have passed since that mournful day
When the Old Spion Kop went away.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Now I know why the Kop had to go
Terraced bars replaced with seats in a row,
It’s for the best that’s what we say
But the Kop I’ll remember in my special way.
