The Red Liverpool Shirt

Red shirts
Deep red emblazoned with history
The LiverBird silent in her vigil
Whilst her sons and daughters
Choose well
Pulling on the red jersey
Smoothing down the creases
As fingers reverently outline
The crest wet with kisses
From the rain of goals.
