Because you meet up with the fans again
Even travelling up as far as Carlisle
By car, van, or on a Virgin train.

The banter is all about disastrous holidays
And who the club are going to buy ?
It’s like you have never been away
With your half time pint and Pukka pie.

But we still haven’t got any new players
Three going out and none coming in
We’ve been told to just please be patient
But look, the squad is looking a bit wafer thin.

I’ve been hearing on the grapevine
That the club is now deep in the red
But we’ve been told not too worry
As usual it’s us fans who are being misled.

Still, we’ll have to grin and bear it
And just keep on supporting the team
But football can reflect life in a way
You smile, when all you want to do is, SCREAM !
