If there is a goal, that everyone remembers
It was in the month of May, back in 1967,
We hung out our windows, waving flags and banners
As God could be heard, celebrating in heaven.

The winning goal was scored by Stevie Chalmers
As Lisbon became a sea of green & white,
Inter Milan, they returned home to Italy
As Celtic songs rang throughout the night.

Mothers dressed their children up in Celtic colours
While fathers returned home from the pub,
By the tenement close, they danced around the pavement,
Heralding the name of Celtic Football Club.

Thousands made their way over to Parkhead
WHere a lap of honor was done on a flat bed truck,
While the accordion band led the procession,
Each Celtic player held high, the European Cup.
