Tony ‘Zico’ Kelly (Bolton Wanderers Fc)

Football welcomes its battlers
And they more than most fire up the terrace choristers
Honest graft and the steam of sweat wrung out from the hard-won match worn and torn shirt
And that there caustic camaraderie
Imagines Macron as Maracanã
In the heels of Tony “Zico” Kelly
Combative Huyton Blue
With a heart as big as Liverpool
Or should that be Farnworth?
No matter the birth certificate, the Trotters idolise
Gave this battle-hardened Scouse, a cool Brazilian tag
And love the well-travelled bones of their midfield Bolton maestro
Tho’ he’s slimmer now retired!
