My name it is-a Mario
An’ I’m Italiano,
I watch-a all the football games
From Roma to Milano,
I also visit prostitutes,
For better or for worse-a,
And write-a poetry ’bout-a them,
It’s-a called-a vice versa…

When my team play Napoli
It’s-a really not so funny,
I put a bet upon the game
An’ lose-a all my money,
So then I write-a couple-a lines
About the gambling curse-a,
I bet-a that my poetry
Is-a called-a vice versa…

When I go travelling with my team
To watch them play Torino,
I get-a drunk and fall-a down
From drinking too much vino,
I wake-a in the hospital
And wink-a at the nurse-a,
Then I write another rhyme,
It’s-a called-a vice versa…

If my team win Serie A
I drink champagne and cheer,
And chase-a all the women round
Shouting “Mamma Mia !”
Should my heart attack-a me
And put me in the hearse-a,
The choir in the chapel
Will-a sing-a vice versa….
