On football what I remember
Like Diego Maradona’s hand of god
And Dave Mckay throttling Billy Bremner.
Another one high on my list
Which still brings out the smiles
The day we won the Jules Rimet
And the toothless Nobby Stiles.
Add the one back in the Seventies
Which the snappers did not miss
When Tony Currie and Alan Birchenall
Shared that little kiss.
But my eternal favourite
No questions, iff’s or but’s
The one from Twenty years ago
When Vinnie Jones grabbed Gazza’s nuts.

Notes

I find it hard to believe that it was 20 years ago last month when
that photo which had everybody laughing except Gazza of course
Was taken at plough lane.
