An arbiter dashing the dreams
With decisions that sorely sting

Will dictate the fate of so many
Right across the globe

With their baffling interpretations
Send players early to disrobe

For Obama will bring drama
In the good ol’ USA

But FIFA must bring consistency
For all on the field of play

Notes

I don’t like criticising referees – but –
I’m perplexed after seeing (only highlights mind) last nights Champions League action.
In particular : sending off Deco for taking a quick free kick – where on earth is the advantage to the attacking team?!?!?!
And in the Liverpool game : Stevie G fouls the centre back and wins a last minute pen!
And at least 3 decent shouts for handball against Liverpool and a couple against Atletico, all in the box, no pens given.

Plus –
I wanted to be the first in with a football poem and Obama 😉
