Our stadium lies empty
the grass is overgrown,
but all we really want

Our stadium lies empty
silence is all around,
empty seats and terraces
no singing in the ground.

Our stadium lies empty
floodlights no longer shine,
black clouds in their place
a football club in decline.
¶ 4

Our stadium lies empty
all vacant and bare,
standing dormant
like a monument of despair.
¶ 5

Our stadium lies empty
looking sad and grey,
but we want to return
to watch our team play.

Our stadium lies empty
no longer our abode,
so why oh why oh why
did we leave Highfield Road ?
