We’ll score again
don’t know where, don’t know when,
but I know we’ll score again

Things are getting desperate now…
we get happy-clappy
at crossing the half-way line;
our goal mouth
looks like it was transplanted from the Somme.
On the centre-circle,
a priest reads the last rites
over the squad put together
for the cost of a Big Mac
(hold the fries).

We’re still a’ Big Club’
chants the fan next to me
palms pressed together; eyes shut tight.
We’re a sleeping giant
in a coma.

We’ll score again,
don’t know where, don’t know when
but I know we’ll score again
before I die…….
