but he hears the strains of “God Save the Queen”
from the stadium near his last home

just before closing his eyes for good
on October 20

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 That anthem, could have been  his last song
as he stepped towards his eternity
After the match involving
Northen Ireland under Bingham, Everton former star
from the 1960’s

such a game was played

Notes

Less than one week prior to my father’s passing on 20 October 1987,the anthem God Save the Queen was performed at Grbavica Stadium in Sarajevo who hosted UEFA European Championship 1988 qualifying fixture involving Northen Ireland.

He lived near the stadium.
