Homeward and Onward

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We’re heading home we’re Steve Clarke’s Army,
Hopes all smashed to smithereens.
No, we didn’t shake ’em up,
Didn’t win the World Cup,
Cos we’re really quite an ordinary team.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We’re marching on we’re Tuchel’s Troopers,
We’ve made it to the Knockout Stage.
We don’t care about low blocks,
Now we’re gonna call the shots,
And we’re out to set this tournament ablaze.

Notes

Do you remember Scotland’s 1978 World Cup song? This poem refers back to that.
