Houllier our French King

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It started in 1969 while teaching at a Walton High School
Standing on the Kop watching our lads destroy Dundalk,
Who would have though 29 years later he would manage Liverpool
To lead us to winning ways never alone would we walk.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 A managerial career that began in 1973
And during the 80’s he won the French title,
Helped France to World Cup glory for all the world to see
And with that Liverpool called, a managerial position he would fill.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Guiding us to our first trophy in six long lonely years
Followed by the treble things where looking grand,
Fans had waited so long, but cheers turned to tears
When Gerard was taken ill leaving Thompson to land a hand.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Against Roma he returned and stired the ship to 2nd place
And after our Worthington Cup victory he gained an OBE,
I for one hope Houllier can lead the title race
So let’s stick with Houllier for Shankly’s sake I plea!
