If yer standing at Craven Cottage
And the match is a right waste of space
Turn yer back on the football
Look out o’er the Thames
Then cheer the boys on in the boat race!

I’m sure I’ve done this, Chelsea were away, so we went to Craven Cottage to see our West London neighbours Fulham. The Oxford versus Cambridge boat race starts at Putney Bridge and goes right past the Cottage. Great view of the race if my memory serves me well?
It ( the race) used to always be on a Saturday as well.
peace.
kev.

Ha!! Just brilliant! I can hear this being sung. So funny!
I love this verse as I know exactly that feeling of living in a fantasy while kicking the ball as a kid. Makes me wonder what fantasy world professional players live in when they dribble, pass and shoot? Hopefully it’s doesn’t always feel like routine job fired them
