supposedly attributed to an Oxford alumni not really into football …

‘Football is the only opportunity left in this country where the working class pay a big hefty tax to the rich and invariably get nothing for it’.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 True enough perhaps at the upper echelon
Where the Beautiful Dame, is most certainly a tart
But take away the finery, reveal a canny lass
And invariably you’ll find a game, such a class apart

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Perhaps even, translate that rebuttal to the park pitches
Where every class of a man, woman or child … is covered in riches …

This boss is an Oxford alumi, accountant down in London, he doesn’t really like football and only ever attends games when he gets corporate tickets for Chelsea and his observation of football was … (the quote above)

I just felt it was a valid point … up to a point.

And felt compelled to respond.
