The Storming Of The Sanctuary

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Both bars in “The Admiral” were rocking
Eyes peeled at the match on the screen
What I’m told is the language was ever so shocking
So like a Cech sheet I’d best keep this clean.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Forty three minutes in to the action
As the air turned both ribald and blue
A fine female form caused said viewing distraction
By tearing in to the pub, when looking for love as you do.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Like a cyclone she stormed to the table
Where her man and his muckers were sat
Let’s just say her language weren’t that of the stable
Then move quickly on to the facts.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 “As you’re spending so much time and money
With your mates living here in this pub
You might as well stay here from today Sunny Jim.
Oh and here’s what I cooked you for lunch”.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Thinking her lover, a mere slip of a man
Would be gob-smacked and blush red in the face
She then crashed his dinner still in the pan, on the table
In front of his mates, then did a body swerve out of that place.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 A quite deathly silence then followed
The sound from the screen was alone
Whilst outside in the car park an engine backfired
As the distressed miss raced off down the road

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Your man was all eyes on the big screen
The love of his life drove off alone
He looked down at his dinner, then up at his team
Who like him, were a long way from home?

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 “Barman: another seven pints of lager
A double brandy, and a small drop of Bells
Oh and before the halftime pint pulling drama starts
Could you micro wave me dinner as well?”

Notes

This poem is kinda based on a true story. I know of the loving couple concerned and last heard of they were still…..together.

So may they live happily ever after, as the old story books used to tell us at the end of every tale!

peace
