Its skin is green, short-haired,
A pattern of white markings.

Its eyes stand out on stalks, brilliant!
It can see only itself in the dark.
¶ 3

It has two mouths, one at each end,
When one looks enormous, the other looks tiny.
¶ 4

It has a roar like an attacking army,
A groan like a drowned troop-ship.

It has so many hands you can’t count them,
They wave and clap and wear gloves in winter.

It has feet that run up and down its back,
They are, we think, chasing something.
¶ 7
Leave a comment on verse 7 0
They are chasing its small, loose head, they kick
And push it in a mouth. The thing goes wild!
