The long suffering supporter

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Final whistle has been blown
yet another loss and defeat
fans trudge home miserable
heads bowed looking at their feet.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Some queue waiting for a bus
others walk or go off in cars
a few gather talking about the match
most head off to clubs and bars.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 In pubs fans discuss missed chances
and moan about the poor referee
some say they won’t be coming again
and wouldn’t even if it was for free.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 But the long suffering fan stays silent
just sits quietly drinking his pint of beer
as he’s heard it all so many times before
season after season and year after year.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 The long suffering fan will be back
at the next game in his usual seat
cheering on his beloved team
and hoping for a win and not a defeat.

Notes

This is for all our long suffering fans who left the Ricoh after the West Ham game on Saturday.
Gutted would sum it up because we dominated the match yet came away with nothing, keeping six and a half thousand Hammers fans silent for most of the game.
Football can be a cruel sport and unfair too but you just have to get up and get on with it but our fans are now too punch drunk to get up off the canvas !
