It’s a funny old game alright

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 You just never really know
anything can happen on the day
it don’t matter who you are
or if you’re at home or away.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 You can be sitting at the top
or bottom holding the rest up
your team can be champions
or holders of the F.A. Cup.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Football can bring surprises
teams can cause a great shock
your team can lose a match
with only seconds left on the clock.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Strange results happen all the time
and they can occur anywhere
while you’re sitting in your seat dejected
another supporter is punching the air.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But that’s football and why we love it
even though it can turn your hair grey
but no matter how poor our team is
we’ll continue turning up to see them play.

Notes

My team were dead and gone a short while ago but now unbeaten in the last five games proving you can never give up even when things look bleak.

We are still in a relegation battle and far from safe yet, but the fight in the team is there and us fans are feeling a lot chirpier.

But I have to give credit to the Pompey fans who once again are a credit to their club they never stop getting behind the team, and deserve so much more than what they get.
